Southend United have signed defender Sean Keogh on a month-long loan from Albion. The 20-year-old left-back joined the club on 24 September and is available immediately.
Keogh arrives with experience from 23 appearances in Premier League 2 last season, where he was a key figure for Albion's under-21 side. He originally joined Albion from Dundalk in 2025. His move bolsters a Southend squad sitting second in the National League with 20 points from nine games.
Manager Kieron Dyer identified Keogh as a key addition for his defensive setup. The former England international, who won 33 caps and played in the 2002 World Cup, will oversee the player's development.
"I was close to two signings ahead of a home game against Barrow, with Keogh among them," Dyer said.
Keogh is eligible for the upcoming fixtures against Eastleigh, Fylde, Boston and Halifax. His loan is set to conclude just before Southend face Worthing on 27 October. He joins fellow loanee Charlie Tasker, who is on a season-long deal, in strengthening the squad.
The Shrimpers are three points behind leaders Boreham Wood and are on a strong run of form, with three wins and two draws from their last five matches. Their next test is at home to 17th-placed Barrow on Saturday.
