Southend United has unveiled a commemorative kit to mark its 120th anniversary, featuring the names of 148 players who made at least 120 appearances. The Shrimpers will wear the special shirt in their upcoming match against Aveley at Roots Hall on Saturday, before facing Eastleigh at home on February 16, 2027, where they currently sit 13th in the table.

What makes the kit special?

The retro-inspired design, created with sportswear brand Erreà, includes a monochrome colour scheme and a classic collar. Each shirt lists the 148 players who reached the 120-appearance milestone, celebrating the club’s rich history. The match-worn jerseys from the Aveley game will later be auctioned to fund future anniversary events.

How fans can get the shirt

Only 120 shirts per size (XS to 5XL) will be available in-store from 10am on Saturday. Any remaining stock will go on sale online from Monday, August 3, at 10am. The limited-edition nature ensures exclusivity for supporters.

Why this milestone matters

The 120th anniversary is a landmark for Southend United, reflecting its enduring legacy in English football. The kit not only honours past players but also engages fans through the auction and limited sales, reinforcing the club’s connection with its community.
