Southend United secured a 3-1 victory over Tamworth at Roots Hall on Tuesday. The win keeps them third in the National League, just three points behind leaders Boreham Wood with 17 points from eight games.

Luke Chambers-Parillon opened the scoring on the hour mark, finishing off a move created by Danny Oldaker. Eight minutes later, Paul Omochere doubled the advantage with an assist from Kieran McAdam. Tamworth pulled one back through Nana Tshikuna after 70 minutes, but Sam Austin sealed the points for Southend with a late strike.

The result extends Southend's solid recent form to two wins, two draws and one loss from their last five outings. They have now scored 17 goals this season, the third-highest tally in the division.

This performance followed a dramatic 2-2 draw away at Carlisle United last Friday, where Chambers-Parillon and McAdam scored late goals to earn a point. Southend's next match is a key league encounter this coming Saturday.
