Southend's Kieron Dyer started his managerial career with a win against Altrincham. The 47-year-old former England winger's side turned the game around with two goals either side of half-time. The visitors took the lead in the eighth minute when Tom Crawford tucked home a rebound after Aidan Barlow was denied by visiting goalkeeper Joe Duncan. But Dyer's side levelled the game in the 37th minute as Leon Chambers-Parillon beat his marker and found the bottom corner from 20 yards. The home side took the lead for the first time in the 44th minute as Oli Coker slotted home after Harry Cardwell had dispossessed Altrincham goalkeeper Owen Evans. Altrincham had Matty Kosylo sent off for a second yellow card with 20 minutes left and Southend took advantage as Cardwell added a third in the 85th minute. Southend's next fixture is against Eastleigh at home on 2027-02-16, where they currently sit 13th in the table.
